What is a Pre-Shoot Consultation? Why is mandatory? The first step in booking with me is a consultation. While texting and emailing is great, many times, information can be misinterpreted through those means of communication so in order for me to meet your expectations, a consultation is mandatory. A Pre-Shoot Consultation is where we will discuss, in person, details relating to your shoot (your ideas, locations, wardrobe choices, shooting date & time, how to prep for your session, etc.) You will also have a hands-on experience with my signature and heirloom products. Previous clients really appreciate this step because it helps prepare them for their session and it allows them to connect with me before their shoot. For the consultation, you can bring location ideas, photo inspiration, potential outfits, potential props, questions and concerns, & more! I do not suggest bringing kids to this process.

When should I schedule a Pre-Shoot Consultation? After booking, we will discuss a date and time for your consultation.
-
When should I book my session? You should book your session at least 1-3 months in advance. For example: If your child's 1st birthday is in August, I suggest booking the 1st birthday session in late June. That way we can plan the custom session. PLUS, I do not like to rush with photo editing. I want your photos to look A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! Booking far in advance lets me complete your photos within a decent amount a time without rushing.

How much is a session? You can view my pricing info here.

What is the best way to contact you?The best way to contact me is through email: dnewsomephotography[at]gmail.com. Please do not use Facebook messenger or Instagram DMs as a way to contact me. I do not always receive your messages. To contact me, click here.

Why do you prefer to shoot outside in the evenings?I prefer to shoot in the evening because it gives a warm, golden look to images, which is what I prefer. When the sun is shining bright, shadows tend to be present on the face, which is not a desired look in my style of photography. It will be worth the wait to schedule later in the day. Your photos will look amazing during that time. I guarantee it!
-
How do I prepare for my session? As soon as you book your session, we will schedule an in-person, Pre-Shoot Consultation where we will discuss everything in relation to your session.
-
Can I take pictures/selfies with my cellphone during my session?Yes! As long as you tag me when you post them! I always love behind the scenes shots as well! But seriously, if your cell phone becomes a distraction, I will ask that you put it away so we can continue with the session. No professional DSLRs are allowed at the session.
-
Do you travel for sessions?Currently, I do not travel for sessions. All sessions must be taken in the Valdosta, GA area.
-
Where is your studio?Studio location will be disclosed 1-2 days before your session date.
-
Payment methods? When is my remaining balance due?Your retainer must be paid through my booking site. Your remaining balance is due the day before your session. You will receive an automated payment reminder email the day before your session. f you would like to pay the remaining balance in cash, it is due before shooting begins. I do not accept Cash App, Venmo, or Zelle.
-
Do you supply props?Props and decor, except number balloons, are mainly supplied for birthday sessions only. However, you are welcome to bring any props that you would like to be photographed with.
